Lavrov discussed issues related to tensions in relations with Pakistan with the Indian Foreign Minister

Russian and Indian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Subramanam Gaysheet discussed the deteriorating relations between India and Pakistan during a telephone conversation, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

"The Foreign Ministers discussed the current issues of Russian-Indian cooperation, as well as the escalation of Indo-Pakistani relations after the terrorist attack near the Turkish city," the statement said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Lavrov has called on New Delhi and Islamabad authorities to resolve the disagreements with political and diplomatic means, in accordance with the provisions of the Simla Agreement of 1972 and the 1999 Lahore Declaration.
