The Afghan Ministry of Economy has called on the United States not to use humanitarian aid as a policy of political pressure on the government of Afghanistan.
"Humanitarian aid based on world laws and international principles is vital. For emergencies, disasters, economic crises and vulnerable people, such aid plays a key role in accessing food, water and services.
But this help should not be used as a tool of political pressure, "said the ministry's spokesman Abdul Rahman Habib, commenting on the quarterly report of the US General Inspector of Afghanistan (SIGAR).
