The National Report of the 4th District presented by the Republic of Armenia took place in Geneva on May 1, within the framework of the 49th session of the United Nations Working Group. This was reported by the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The report addresses the developments and prospects of human rights in Armenia over the past 4.5 years. The preparation of the report was carried out by the coordination of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the involvement of all interested departments, public discussions of the report took place.
The RA delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abyssoghomenian at the 49th session. The delegation also included the Minister of Justice Anna Karapetyan, Deputy Minister of Labor, Science, Culture and Sports Arthur Martirosyan, Deputy Minister of Health Lena Nanushyan, Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Maymaryan, Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the SEA session, the Armenian delegation presented a detailed report on the implementation of the instructions given to Armenia during the monitoring of the previous period. The Deputy Foreign Minister drew the attention of the challenges facing Armenia during the reporting period, including 115,000 forced deportees of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, the release of the release of Armenian prisoners of war, missing civilians.
The discussion of the general periodical report on the 4th period of the Republic of Armenia was of great interest from the international community. Representatives of about 100 member states have made speeches, mainly emphasizing the progress made by Armenia in the field of human sector in recent years, including legislative and systemic reforms.
The Armenian delegation assured that the government is determined to continue the reform process, guided by the principles of transparency, accountability, participation, inclusion.
