The earthquake in Istanbul has damaged more than a thousand buildings


Turkish Minister of Environment and Urban Development Murad Kurum has stated that the earthquake in Istanbul has damaged more than 1,000 building. He wrote about this on the X social network.

"So far, we have studied 15013 houses, it turned out that 12,398 of them were not damaged, 1025 were lighter," he said. The head of the department also reported that the damage assessment will continue.

A magnitude 6.2 earthquake shook the Marmara Sea on April 23, followed by posts.

Earlier, Turkish seismologist Ahmed Erjan warned that in the future Turkey can expect a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7 to 7.2. He predicts that in 2045-2075 the country threatens destructive disaster.
