China has stopped buying Boeing planes. Bloomberg

Within the framework of the trade war with the United States, the Chinese authorities have demanded that their airlines stop the import of Boeing planes, according to Bloomberg, citing sources.

China has ordered its airlines to supply more Boeing Co.'s aircraft within the framework of the trade war, with which US President Donald Trump has set 145% customs duties on Chinese goods, people familiar with the issue.

In addition, air carriers must stop any purchase of equipment and spare parts from American companies. At the same time, the authorities consider the possibility of helping those tenants of Boeing aircraft that can cost higher expenses, agencies added.

They said some planes would still be allowed to import, as the delivery and payment documents were completed until the return of the response duties announced by China.

The China Civil Aviation Department did not respond to the comment request. Boeing refused to comment.
