"Fact" daily writes: "After the defeat of the Armenian national football team against North Macedonia in an away match, we noted. "Should Petrakov be fired? That is for FFA to decide. We think this is not the best solution at this time. But after or on the eve of the World Cup draw, it should be seriously considered. And until then, instead of whining, it is necessary to draw conclusions. It's a shame these guys." That Petrakov was a failed coach is beyond doubt. The fact that he never got along with the boys of our team is also obvious. The fact that he was a troublemaker, always looking for culprits, like Nikol Pashinyan, the fact that he never understood and did not perceive the differences in mentality, is also not discussed. And, in general, appointing him was an absurd decision from the beginning. But we were deeply convinced that it makes no sense to fire the head coach two games before the end of the Nations League, it could and should be done in mid-November, and a normal coach should be found by spring. But the Football Federation of Armenia decided to remove him from his post after the "home" game with North Macedonia. Why? FFA, of course, has its "official comments", but it seems that the federation tried to remove the arrows of dissatisfaction from itself as much as possible and put all the blame on Petrakov. Moreover, we are sure that they were aware of the deep dissatisfaction. , which have accumulated not only among football fans in general, but also in the First Armenian Front (FAF). But, as it seems, it was not possible to avoid giving an answer. The same FAF carried out an action at the Football Federation of Armenia after Sunday's game, and then issued a statement demanding the resignation of the FFA president (other fan clubs also joined the demand). It was mentioned that Melikbekyan exhausted himself. Honestly, someone had to have done something sometime to run out.
This leadership of the Federation had simply failed from the start. When the Melikbekyan-Nikogohosyan couple had just taken over the leadership of the FFA, they talked about some programs, the results of which will be felt in a few years, they did PR on the topic of building bubble stadiums, etc., etc. What do we have today, 5 years later? Not zero, but a "minus" result. And the issue is not only the national team, although here too, of course, there are deep problems, starting with the topic related to Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and ending with the fact that the coach can afford to "make a fuss" and not invite players who are in good shape to the team. The problem is not even the atmosphere in the domestic league, when the federation is constantly in conflict with various clubs. Look, the state of the U-21, U-19, U-17 teams is simply tragic. Moreover, the latter includes those young people who are the beneficiaries of the "programs" of this leadership of the federation. Now, in the language of numbers. Moreover, in order not to overload, we present indicators of a relatively short period. In the last 6 matches, the under-21 team suffered 4 defeats, played 2 draws, conceded 15 goals, scored... only one. The U17 team have lost...6 times in their last 6 games, conceding 24 goals and scoring just two. Three of the losses were by embarrassingly large scores. The results of the under-19 team can be considered a little comforting. in the last 7 games: 2 wins, 2 draws, 3 losses. As for the national team, in the last 11 matches the team had only 2 wins, 2 draws and...7 losses. Moreover, the issue is not only these indicators. It is much more important what kind of game the teams play, what kind of atmosphere prevails, what kind of moral and psychological mood the football players enter the field and play, what is the situation in youth football, and most importantly, what is being done to correct this situation. And maybe everything is being done so that we don't have football at all? What is there, we will get rid of headaches, we will sow rice in football stadiums and we will not maintain a meaningless federation. And, in general, all federations can be closed, leaving only one, the cycling federation. The president of the latter is also clear, isn't it, who should be... And if we are serious, the situation is really painful, and only removing Petrakov will not solve the problems... P.S. - The article was ready for printing when we received the information. that FFA President Armen Melikbekyan will resign soon. However, the FFA informed the media that the issue of the president's resignation is not being discussed in the Football Federation of Armenia. Well, it's a familiar handwriting. Let's wait for the reaction of FAF and other fan clubs."
