Ankara's leadership is not aware of Russia's and US plans in the context of continuing the negotiation process in Turkey. The Turkish side expressed its readiness for any mediation, RIA Novosti, the President of the Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Negotiations between the Russian and American delegations have started in Istanbul, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
The meeting takes place at the Consulate General of Russia. Russia is represented by Ambassador to the United States Alexander Darchi, and the US Deputy Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Sonata Cultures. The rest of the participants are representatives of the Russian Federation and US foreign policy departments. Strengthening security measures is expected.
