The death toll from storms, floods and tornadoes in the United States has reached 24, CBS reports, citing the authorities.
Earlier, ABC reported 20 victims.
"For days, ruthless torrential rainfall and storms have taken away at least 24 people in seven states," said the TV channel.
It is noted that 10 people were killed in Tennessee, where the powerful tornadoes passed and the severe flood was observed. As a result of the flood, at least five Kentucky residents were killed. Another three deaths were established by the Missouri authorities, two people were killed in Arkansas and Georgia, and one person in Indiana and Mississippi.
Tennessee's rescuers work with the authorities to assess the damage and decide whether to declare a federal disaster.
