Estonian Foreign Minister threatens Hungary to deprive EU vote

Estonian Foreign Minister Marcus Zahna reminded Hungary's ability to deprive the European Union, including for cooperation with Russia.

In an interview with Rheinische Post, he said that Hungary "plays in Putin's team, not in the European team."

"In Article 7 of the EU Treaty, it is possible to deprive the Member State of the right to vote if its participation in the security of Europe or other members. That's exactly what Hungarian Prime Minister Orban is doing, "he said. The need to apply the provisions of this article is getting closer, "the politician said, in response to whether this opportunity should be used right now.

Earlier, the British newspaper Financial Times reported that European officials were again discussing the possibility of depriving Hungary voice, which could block the joint decisions of the European Union, including against the Russian Federation.
