From April 10, the Chinese authorities set at 34% additional customs duties on all products imported from the United States. This was stated by the Tariff Commission of the Public Council of the People's Council.

This step was a response to US President Donald Trump tariff policy.

"US actions contradict the rules of international trade, they seriously undermine the legal rights and interests of China and are a typical manifestation of unilateral intimidation," the statement said.
