The trade between Russia and the United States has sharply increased in February, reaching $ 389 million last year, according to US customs data, RIA Novosti reported.
During his inauguration, US President Donald Trump announced the reform of the country's trade system. It was then that he first stated that the United States will "define customs duties on foreign countries" to enrich its citizens. Then in February, new customs duties were entered against China, Canada and Mexico along with the announcement of the next general customs duties.
As a result, the fear of new customs duties may push the American importers to buy more active goods from other countries, including Russia.
In February, the US imports of Russian goods increased 1.7 times a month and by almost 20% year, amounting to 339.6 million dollars. This was the most in May last year.
