Badz Gunba, who won the March 2 elections, has taken over the post of President of the Republic of Abkhazia. The ceremony, during which Gunba swore to the Constitution, took place in Sukhumi, in the government session hall, according to TASS correspondent from the scene.
"I swear to the entire multinational people of Abkhazia that I will use my knowledge and strength for their welfare, peace and calm.
During my activities, I will strongly follow the requirements of the Constitution of the Republic of Abkhazia as a guarantee of its strict exercise by the authorities, respect for the rights and freedoms of all citizens of the republic, and the presence of judges of the judges of the National Assembly of the Republic.
