Shooting in Afghanistan. 4 people were killed, three of them Spanish citizens

Four people, including three Spanish citizens, were killed on Friday as a result of the shooting that took place in the central part of Afghanistan, the Spanish and Afghan authorities informed.

Abdul Matin Kani, the representative of the Ministry of Interior of Afghanistan, informed that three Europeans and one citizen of Afghanistan were killed in the city of Bamiyan.

Four foreign citizens and three Afghans were injured as a result of the attack when the militants opened fire, Reuters reported, referring to Kani.

Four people were arrested.

There is another Spaniard among the wounded, the Spanish diplomatic source told CNN.

He informed on Friday that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain is working together with the emergency consular department to find out the circumstances, provides assistance to the victims and establishes contact with their families.

Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez informed that the victims were tourists.

"I am shocked by the news of the killing of Spanish tourists in Afghanistan. I am carefully following the situation. The consular emergency department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain is working to provide the necessary assistance. I would like to express my condolences to their relatives and friends," the Prime Minister of Spain wrote.
