Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Armenia and the Head of the European Department of the Council of Europe Samvel Mkrtchyan and the head of the Swiss Foreign Ministry's Department of Foreign Affairs Muriel Penvyu were held between the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Foreign Ministry.
A wide range of issues related to the agenda of bilateral relations were discussed. Both sides stressed the need to further expand cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the high level of political dialogue between Armenia and Switzerland and touched upon the effective cooperation on international platforms. The meeting also touched upon the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Armenian side highly assessed the consistent support of Switzerland for efforts to sustainable peace in the region. Thoughts were also exchanged on urgent issues on the international and regional agenda.
