The Governor of Istanbul has decided to ban any demonstration and rally in the state until March 23, as well as blocked several central metro stations and highways in Metropoli. This decision was made in the face of the city's opposition mayor Ekimamoglu's arrest in the framework of the investigation of terrorism and corruption.
The regional authorities have notified the public to the public that "any public event in the whole state is prohibited in the next four days, that is, until March 23." In order to maintain public order and prevent possible provocative actions in the region, any rally, demonstration and a statement for the press are prohibited for four days.
Also on Wednesday, the traffic on the Istanbul Center will be closed. In addition, several subway stations will be temporarily closed for entry and output, including Taksim station, which looks at the Square Square and Isticlal Avenue, where marches and rallies are traditionally occurring.
