US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that his telephone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin were effective.
"My telephone conversation with Russian President Putin was very good and effective today," he wrote in Truth Social.
He noted that he discussed many elements of a peaceful settlement with Putin.
"We agreed on all the energy infrastructure on the immediate ceasefire, realizing that we would try to reach a complete ceasefire and finally end this terrible war between Russia and Ukraine," Trump said.
He stressed that both Putin and the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelopezi want the conflict to be stopped. Trump assured that the settlement process "is now in full swing" and expressed hope that "work can be completed."
Trump also reiterated that the crisis around Ukraine would not be the crisis if the US President was then.
