In Chicago, a gang of robbers robbed a train loaded with valuable goods.

In Chicago, a gang robbed a freight train with valuable goods, ABC Chicago reports.

According to the channel, the incident occurred on the afternoon of October 12 in the city's South Austin area. Witnesses said at least 12 people robbed the train for nearly an hour before police arrived. At the same time, one of the law enforcement officers pulled out a weapon, trying to detain the car in which the attackers fled at high speed from the scene.

The Union Pacific railway company explained that the train had stopped waiting to continue moving along the tracks of a partner company. At this time, robbers began breaking into carriages and opening containers.

ABC Chicago notes that this is not the first such robbery in several months. In August, in the western part of Chicago, criminals opened several freight cars and stole televisions from them. At least six people were arrested and some of the goods were seized.
