The Co-Chairs of the Armenian Assembly of America sent a letter to President Tramph, expressing concern over Armenia's security until the talks with Azerbaijan ended.
Recalling the statement of last year's president to "defend peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan", the Armenian Assembly of Armenia Oscar Tatosyan and Talin Yakubyan singled out many concerns about the announcement of the "Historical Peace Treaty" talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"True peace cannot be achieved until all Armenian hostages and prisoners of war have been released, and we call on you to use all the tools at your disposal to ensure their immediate freedom," the Co-Chairs of the Congress said.
The Co-Chairs stressed that strong security guarantees should be, as well as "severe consequences if Azerbaijan violates this agreement."
In their letter, they mentioned the continuous failure of Azerbaijan's international commitments, including the agreement reached in Washington in 2020 during the first presidential office of President Trump.
The letter also expressed serious concerns about the continuous military presence of Azerbaijan in the strategic territories of Armenia.
In addition, the Co-Chairs stressed that the ethnic cleansings of 120,000 Armenians in Artsakh remain a "unresolved humanitarian crisis" and their letter stressed that their rights and status must be resolved, and their "fundamental right to return must be guaranteed."
