President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has arrived in the Federation Council, according to TASS correspondent. The flags of Russia and Belarus have been installed in the Federal Council for the arrival of Lukashenko.
On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Lukashenko will address the Federal Council on March 14. As Natalia Eosmont, a spokesman for the President of the Republic of Belarus, explained to TASS, Lukashenko will perform for the first time in the Federation Council.
"Federal Council Chairman Valentina Ivanovna thought Matvienko thought I would not come, but I came," Lukashenko said with smiling.
Before the speech, the President of the Federation Valentina Matvienko met the leader of the Belarusian Council. The head of state handed him a bouquet of flowers, press his hands and make a note in the book of honorary guests.
