South Korea denies sending drones to Pyongyang

The Republic of Korea did not send drones to Pyongyang to distribute leaflets. This was reported by the Yonhap news agency, citing the Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Korea. “The armed forces did not send drones to the North,” said an unnamed representative of the committee. “We need to check whether public organizations sent them,” he added. A similar statement was made by the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Korea, Kim Yong Hyun. “This didn’t happen. Now I don’t fully control the situation.

I’ll check,” the minister said during parliamentary hearings.

The DPRK Foreign Ministry issued a statement that the Republic of Korea sent drones to Pyongyang three times during October to distribute leaflets. The DPRK, as an ultimatum, demanded to stop sending unmanned aerial vehicles and began to bring its offensive forces “to full readiness.” The People's Republic has been sending garbage balloons towards the Republic of Korea since May.
