Voter turnout in the parliamentary elections in Greenland on Tuesday amounted to 70.9%. This is evidenced by the data counting data in all 72 polling stations published on the Valg.GL website.
The number of residents of the island entitled to vote was 40369. 28620 people voted. 218 ballots were empty, 104 were invalid. In the previous elections, in 2021, the participation was 65.9%. The record was 76 percent, set in 1999.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that Greenland should join the United States. The issue of the island's independence, which is now in Denmark, became one of the key topics of the pre-election campaign.
The winning Social-Liberal Democrat Party (Democrats, 29.9%) is a careful approach to this issue, and the second largest NALERAQ party (Milstoun, 24.5%) acts as early as Denmark.
