Within the framework of the penitentiary reforms of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Guard of the Police will be launched on November 1, which will take responsibility for new weapons and trained staff in a number of directions. Guard will provide public order, ensuring public safety, protection of state buildings, and the establishment of the delegations, as well as ensuring the legal regime of the military and emergency.
A delegation led by the Commander of the Public Security Service of the Republic of Lithuania was in Armenia in the context of the exchange of international experience and cooperation to strengthen international experience.
Within the framework of the visit, a roundtable discussion on "The structure, functional problems and best practices in the EU". Commander of the Police Troops Hayk Babayan, Commander of the Republic of Lithuania Victoras Grabauskas, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as international experts.
The structural features of the guard of the police, ways of development, technical equipment and cooperation with partner structures were discussed. In order to introduce the best international experience, they also touched upon the functions of the Lithuanian Public Security Service, the features of the work, management models, as well as the opportunities for cooperation.
The delegation toured the interior police troops, getting acquainted with the importance of material and technical equipment and the challenges of the service.
At the end of the police troops, the Commander of the Police awarded the members of the delegation for effective cooperation.
The guests also visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where the EU-funded "Support for Law enforcement and Security Reforms in Armenia" presented certificates to two-week training participants.
