India does not see itself as a mediator in resolving the Ukrainian conflict

India communicated at different times with Moscow and Kiev, but New Deli does not see its mediator in the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. During his visit to the United Kingdom, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Subrrome Jayshakar said.

"I am not sure," he said, answering the question whether India sees him as a mediator in Ukraine. At the same time, he reminded that India is one of the few countries that regularly negotiates with both Moscow and Kiev.

"At different times, if our participation was useful, we tried to do it. Every time it was felt that India could do something, they came to us and ask. "Would you like to do it?"

"And I would say this. Every time we have an important and useful conversation with one of them, we were looking for Russian President Vladimir Putin's approval to share with the Ukrainians, "he said.

He stressed that Moscow and Kiev should talk directly. "We believe that they should hold direct talks, it has been our consistent position.
