25% customs duties set out in Canada and Mexico have come into effect

The customs duties of 25% of goods imported from Mexico and Canada to Mexico and Canada have come into force on March 4 by US President Donald Trump. The doubling of customs duties towards Chinese goods also entered into force, up to 20%, Reuters reports.

According to the publication, the definition of customs duties may affect the import and export of US goods worth almost $ 2.2 trillion. Trump said that the three countries do not take enough measures to stop the flow of fentanniles to the United States. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Truido said Ottawa would answer 25% of imports, which will affect US goods worth $ 20.7 billion. In addition, customs duties will spread to $ 86.2 million in goods if customs duties have been operating in 21 days.

Truido earlier announced that Canadian response funds will affect beer, wine, bourbon, household appliances and florida orange juice. Mexican President Claudia Sheenbaum will announce the country's response to the March 4 press conference.
