Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has arrived in Tehran on his visit, RIA Novosti's correspondent reports.
Lavrov will hold talks with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghi, as well as the Iranian Foreign Ministry, a number of meetings with officials in Tehran. Before that, he visited Turkey.
The Minister's visit took place one month after his visit to Massoud Pezeshki, where he held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on January 17.
Afterwards, the parties signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, agreeing to expand oil and gas cooperation, refrain from joining the third party sanctions and not to help the aggressor country.
The expansion of cooperation between Moscow and Tehran will be one of the topics of the forthcoming talks, especially in the light of the parties' intent to increase the volumes, where there is still stagnation.
