President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed hope that Armenia and Azerbaijan will sign the provisions of the peace agreement within the next four weeks. Vahagn Khachaturyan stated this in a conversation with Reuters agency. Vahagn Khachaturyan stated that Yerevan hopes that Baku will sign the agreed articles before the COP29 climate change conference to be held in Baku on November 11-22.
The President of Armenia stated in an interview to Reuters within the framework of the Hamburg Stability Forum that Armenia would sign the peace treaty right now if it depended only on the Armenian side. "We hope that sooner or later we will reach that point," Khachaturyan said.
The RA President added that negotiations are still underway on some articles of the draft peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan, referring to the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations, noted that they are going well, and the issue of opening the border between the two countries for third countries and holders of diplomatic passports is being discussed.
"This will be a signal that real diplomatic relations have become a reality," the RA president said in his speech.
