I continue to claim that Pashinyan's visit to Washington had one main goal, to understand whether the Trump administration would continue to provide its political support he received from Biden's administration.
International expert Suren Sargsyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"He could receive the answer to this question from people who make political decisions in Washington. These people are the president, Secretary of State, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, key State Department officials, Intelligence Community, and others.
Meetings with the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the majority of the Senate could also be significant. They do not make decisions, but they can have an impact on decisions. As it is known, Pashinyan did not meet with such people.
Of course, Vice President Vens is a good image and a politician who has a political decision, but I am sure that it is not particularly aware of Armenia's policy towards Armenia.
This is about the same that the leader of the state has a political issue with Armenia and meet with the President of the Republic of Armenia to resolve the issue.
Therefore, I can claim that this visit did not respond to Pashinyan's main issues, which I wrote about in my previous post, and he returned from Washington to see what to expect from the new administration, including the strategic partnership.
One thing is undeniable. This visit was not worthy of a strategic partner. In addition, it was organized during the wrong period, was spiced with incorrect meetings and messages. Politically, it did not give anything to Armenia, and Pashinyan had a political blow, the consequences of which they will continue.
"Anyone who recognizes Washington cannot claim that this was a useful visit, and anyone who recognizes Yerevan would understand that the overtights are engaged in PR net power," he wrote.
