The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Mirzoyan, congratulated Ryuta on her entry into office

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, congratulated Mark Rutte on his appointment as the Secretary General of NATO, expressing the hope of strengthening the partnership with the alliance. He wrote about it on social media X. Rütte took the post of NATO Secretary General on October 1, replacing Jens Stoltenberg. In his first statement as Secretary General, he stated that he would prepare the alliance for the challenges of the future, increase financing and stimulate innovation. Официальный представитель МИД РФ Maria Zakharova called the new Secretary General Ryute "a reliable Russophobe".

"My sincere congratulations to Mark Rutte on his appointment as the Secretary General of NATO. We hope for our close cooperation in order to further strengthen the partnership between Armenia and NATO, based on common values and a common vision to ensure a safer and more peaceful future," Mirzoyan wrote.

There is an individual partnership plan between Armenia and NATO countries, which was signed in December 2005.

Armenia's participation in this project involves periodic consultations with NATO on regional security, the development of this security strategy itself, the development of Armenia's military doctrine, the improvement of the defense and budget planning process, and other issues.
