On February 4, RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Armenia Alessandro Ferranny. Deputy Minister Narek Hovakimyan was also present at the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on assuming the post and wished success in all initiatives aimed at ensuring sustainable economic development of the two countries.
Then the most promising directions between Armenia and Italy were discussed in the field of economic exports and imports, increasing bilateral trade, implementation of technologies and expanding trade and economic expansion.
They also touched upon the organization of B2B meetings and exhibitions with the participation of business circles of the two countries.
Minister Gevorg Papoyan noted that Armenia encourages foreign investments, in this context, presented the state support program for the production of economically complex products in Armenia and has suggested observing the possibility of investing by Italian companies.
Ambassador Alesandro Ferrant said that it is planned to open the Italian Trade and Investment Agency (Agenzia Ice) in Armenia.
The Minister welcomed the idea and noted.
"We are ready to do everything possible to further strengthen Armenia's economic ties."
The prospects of expanding cooperation in the field of tourism were also discussed.
