The United States considers it necessary to hold elections in Ukraine until the end of 2025, especially if Kiev may agree with Russia over the ceasefire, Reuters reported, citing a special US Special Envoy to Nose Kelog.
In an interview with the agency, Kelog said that presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine should be held. "The United States wants Ukraine to hold elections," the statement said. Vladimir Zelenski's term expired on May 20 2024.
The 2024 presidential election in Ukraine has been canceled due to military and universal mobilization. Zelensky stated that the elections are now "immortal."
