The sales of Madonna's 10-year-old album have jumped over 3,800%, Forbes reports."Like a Prayer" has become a hit all over the world again as moviegoers flock to theaters to see the latest installment of Deadpool. While the song is starting to fall on charts around the world, Madonna isn't done capitalizing on the renewed interest.The Grammy Award winner recently re-released her Like a Prayer album as a collector's edition on silver vinyl. Longtime fans rushed to buy the special edition, causing sales of the album to soar several thousand percentage points over the previous days.In particular, sales of Like a Prayer have soared over 3,800% in the last week. According to Luminate, Madonna's classic LP sold just over 2,000 copies in the US during the tracking period. By contrast, the album sold just 50 copies in the previous week before a special vinyl pressing was released.
These impressive sales have helped Like a Prayer debut atop two US charts. Despite its massive success when it was first released in the 1980s, the album had never appeared on those specific charts before.This album makes its first appearance also on the best-selling albums list, debuting at No. 50.
