The laws initiated by the deputies of the State Duma in order to regulate the migration policy are justified and will force those coming to Russia to change their attitude towards the Russian language, stated the President of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, who is the co-author of the law prohibiting the admission of children who do not know the Russian language to school in Russia.
"The laws adopted by us will force those coming to Russia to change their attitude towards the Russian language, and it is expected that those coming to work with us from neighboring countries will visit more cultural places, the Russian theater, and learn Russian, because we have decided that the children of migrants entering school in Russia for that, knowledge of the Russian language is a mandatory condition," he said, adding that before coming to Russia, migrants should learn Russian, as well as familiarize themselves with Russian culture.
"Previously, we allowed those who did not know Russian, those who did not know about our culture, history, tradition to come to Russia, we did not put it at the basis of our relations, which had its consequences, and we had to make such a decision. Today, we set such conditions for those coming to Russia," said the chairman of the State Duma.
