Hürriyet. The leader of the new Syrian authorities intends to make his first visit to Turkey

The leader of the new Syrian authorities, Ahmed al-Sharaa, plans to make his first foreign visit to Turkey. This is reported by the pro-government Hürriyet newspaper.

The publication clarifies that the visit will take place after Al-Sharaa is elected as the head of the country by the new Syrian parliament. Earlier, the Turkish mass media reported that the visit was supposed to take place in the coming days, but it was postponed due to changes in al-Sharaa's program.

Negotiations will be held in Ankara on Wednesday between the delegation of the Turkish authorities and the new Syrian administration, led by the Foreign Minister of the Transitional Government, Asad Hassan al-Shibani. It also includes Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Kasra and Intelligence Chief Anas Hassan Khattab. The talks will take place in a "three plus three" ministerial format.

The main issue on the agenda is the liquidation of the Turkish forces of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and its local branch, the People's Self-Defense Forces (SND, both structures are recognized by Turkey as terrorist organizations) in Syria.
