South Korea's presidential security chief has resigned

The head of the presidential security service, Park Chun-jun, has submitted his resignation, and the acting president of the Republic of Korea, Choi Sang-mok, has accepted it. This is reported by Yonhap agency.

"Director Park Chung-joon is present at the police interrogation today and submitted his resignation to the acting president Choi Sang-mok through the secretariat," the presidential security service said. Choi Sang Mok accepted his resignation.

Park Chung-joon turned himself in to a police station on Friday for questioning on charges of obstructing government officials. In a failed attempt to arrest the president on January 3, he refused to arrest the president at the residence, which he said was a violation of the law.

After a five and a half hour confrontation with security, the investigators left the complex.
