92 kg of sig. measures against illegal fishing are ongoing

Water patrols, police units serving the coastal area of Lake Sevan, and employees of the Environmental Protection and Subsoil Inspection Authority continue to implement consistent measures to identify and prevent illegal fishing cases.

As a result of joint measures, on January 8, 135 whitefish were found in the fishing boat in Lake Sevan near Chambarak community, totaling 54 kilograms.

The 24- and 31-year-old residents of Tsovagyuh reported that they caught the fish. The fishing boat and the fish were taken to the Chambarak Community Police Department.

In the same area, water patrols stopped the car driven by a 52-year-old man, a resident of Sevan, for the purpose of inspection. During the inspection, the patrols noticed 134 whitefish in the cabin of the car, a total of 38 kilograms.

The man said that he bought the fish from a stranger in Pambak settlement. The documents in both cases were sent to the investigation department of Sevan.
