Thousands of people demonstrated in Istanbul in solidarity with Palestine

Istanbul police closed the streets in the historical part of the city, where a mass action of solidarity between the Turkish and Palestinian people was organized on the first day of 2025.

According to TV channel TRT Haber, tens of thousands of people marched from the world-famous Hagia Sophia (formerly Hagia Sophia), Sultanahmet (Blue) Mosques, Suleimaniye and New Mosques to the Galata Bridge after morning prayers, carrying Turkish and Palestinian flags and posters condemning Israel's actions in Gaza.

Enhanced security measures were taken in the event area. By the decision of the Istanbul authorities, changes were made in the movement of public transport and ferry services in the Bosphorus section from early morning. Security of the event is ensured by thousands of police officers.
