Kim Kardashian talks about how worsening psoriasis affected her preparation for the Met Gala

Kim Kardashian spoke about how worsening psoriasis affected her preparation for the Met Gala.In an episode of the SHE MD Podcast, the reality star opened up about her battle with psoriasis and how the disease worsened ahead of the Met Gala. She said she began to "get a little desperate" when psoriasis began to appear on her face. “There was a spot near the eye that was burning a little bit,” she said. “And I remember I had to go to the Met Gala that week and (psoriasis) was all over my face.”Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease and chronic skin condition “characterized by inflamed, red patches that often turn into silvery scales on the scalp, elbows, knees, and lower back.”Asked if she thought her Met Gala flare-up was “stress-related,” Kim replied, “I’m trying to remember what I was going through at the time. “I could [say] a lot,” Kardashian added, noting that this was the first time psoriasis affected her face. The reality star didn't reveal the year of the Met Gala or elaborate on what might have caused her stress at the time, but she previously told Allure in 2022 that she had a psoriasis flare-up in the lead-up to that year's Met Gala. That same year, she was also criticized for claiming that she lost 16 pounds in three weeks to fit into one of Marilyn Monroe's iconic dresses for the event.
