Turkey is following the process of normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku. Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the situation in the South Caucasus, as well as other issues of the international agenda, during a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev. According to "Armenpress", the office of the President of Turkey has issued a message about this.

"The leaders discussed bilateral relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan, regional and global events. Erdogan stated that he is carefully following the progress of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Turkey expects that with the conclusion of the peace agreement, there will be stability and prosperity in the South Caucasus", the text states.

Erdogan also wished that Azerbaijan's membership in D-8 (Islamic Eight) would benefit the country and be positive. Azerbaijan joined this association during the summit held in Cairo last week.
