The comedian was sentenced in absentia for insulting Lukashenko


The open hearing of the criminal case against the stand-up comedian Vyacheslav Komisarenko, who is wanted for making jokes about the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has begun in the Minsk City Court. This is reported by the website of the Supreme Court of Belarus.

A criminal case has been initiated against the young man, by which the comedian may face up to six years in prison.

In November of last year, the police interrupted Komisarenko's concert in the Czech Republic.
