The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, threatened with the "overthrow of the regime" of the country's ruling "Georgian Dream" party, if it does not schedule new parliamentary elections by December 29. His words are quoted by Sputnik Georgia in the Telegram channel.
"The overthrow of the regime is an alternative to dialogue, compromises and concessions. Concessions are needed, some things need to be accepted, compromises are needed. If not, the regime will fall," Zurabishvili said.
On December 22, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze threatened Zurabishvili with imprisonment if he refused to resign on December 29. The prime minister urged him to wait and see where he wants to end up: "behind bars or free".
