A unique preserved mammoth corpse was found in Yakutia, the geological age of which is supposed to be 50 thousand years, the head of the mammoth museum, Maxim Cheprasov, told reporters, writes RIA Novosti.
"At the moment it can be said that this is one of the best finds of a mammoth carcass ever found in the world.
In general, 6 mammoth bodies have been found in the world before, 5 of them in Russia," Cheprasov said.
According to him, the back and front parts of one mammoth were discovered by local residents in June this year in the Batagayka region of Verkhoyansk marz.
