Ukraine's membership in NATO is possible. Zelensky

Ukraine's NATO membership is within reach, but Kiev must fight to convince its allies, President Volodymyr Zelensky told Ukrainian diplomats on Sunday.

Ukraine has repeatedly called on NATO to invite Kyiv to join. The Western military alliance has announced that Ukraine will one day join its ranks, but has not set a date or sent an invitation.

Moscow cited the prospect of Ukraine joining NATO as one of the main justifications for its invasion in 2022.

"We all understand that inviting Ukraine to NATO and joining the alliance can only be a political decision," Zelensky said at the meeting held in Kyiv.
