NATO countries have announced the creation of a security assistance mission to Ukraine


The summit of the North Atlantic Alliance announced the creation of the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU - NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine) mission. According to "Armenpress", this is stated in the final declaration of the NATO summit held in Washington. NSATU will operate in the territory of NATO member states. its purpose is to support Ukraine's self-defense in accordance with the UN Charter. "In accordance with international law, the (creation) of NSATU will not make NATO a party to the conflict," the text of the declaration reads. The mission should support the transformation of Ukraine's defense and security forces, facilitating their further integration into NATO. According to the agreement, the leaders of the NATO countries welcomed the decision of the secretary general of the alliance on the appointment of the senior representative of NATO in Ukraine.
