Trade turnover with Armenia has doubled. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation

During the 10 months of 2024, the trade turnover between Russia and Armenia reached 10.2 billion dollars, which is twice the figure of 2023.

According to the Russian TASS agency, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk announced this at the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Russia and Armenia.

"Our trade and economic ties continue to develop. At least I can say that mutual trade between our countries is setting new records. Now our data for 10 months of 2024 amounted to 10.2 billion dollars, this is more than double compared to the same indicator of the previous year," he noted, adding that the year is not over yet, so the data at the end of the year will be summarized again.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation emphasized that in order to implement trade and economic relations, Russia and Armenia have almost completely switched to payments in national currency, and the share of the Russian ruble in mutual payments has reached 96.3%. At the same time, Overchuk noted that Russia is one of the main investors in Armenia at the moment.

"Our investments in the industrial project in Armenia have reached 3.4 billion dollars. There are more than 40 large Russian companies operating in Armenia. Some of them, in addition to direct investments, are the largest taxpayers of the state budget of Armenia," the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation emphasized.
