As a result of the collision of passenger and cargo trains in the Murmansk region of Russia, the number of victims has reached 2, the injured - 31, "Interfax" reports, citing "Russian Railways".
"As a result of the incident with Murmansk-St. Petersburg train No. 11 on December 18, 31 people were injured, five of them are children. 14 people were hospitalized, 4 of them are in a serious condition. Unfortunately, one more passenger died in the hospital," said the message of "Russian Railways".
The company is ready to provide free treatment and rehabilitation to the injured passengers in its medical facilities, and 2 million 200 thousand rubles will be paid to the relatives of the victims, the department added.
On December 18, at 16:15 Moscow time, a passenger train traveling from Murmansk to St. Petersburg collided with freight wagons at the Knyazhaya station.
