The mess in my party is a family feud. Trudeau

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has described recent events under his leadership as a family feud within the Liberal Party, and he compared Canadian opposition leader Pierre Poulevre to the Grinch, the villain who stole Christmas.

The head of the government announced this on Tuesday, speaking at the Christmas party of the Liberal Party of Canada.

His speech was broadcast on national TV channels, TASS reports. "Like most families, we sometimes have arguments during the holidays," Trudeau said, referring to the recent scandalous departure from the government of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland. The Prime Minister added that "there are always difficult days and big problems in politics", which, in his opinion, the leader of the party should deal with.

Trudeau accused his political opponents of the Conservative Party of Canada, who are demanding his resignation, of populism. "Just look at their current Grinch, I mean their leader (Polyevre)," the government leader said.
