One person died after a floating Christmas tree collapsed in Brazil


A 56-meter floating Christmas tree in Brazil collapsed during a storm, killing one person and injuring two others, G1 reports.

"The Civil Police is investigating the fall of a floating Christmas tree, as a result of which one worker was killed and two others were injured," the portal said.

The incident took place in the Marica community of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. According to the videos spread on social networks, the structure placed on the water near the coast fell during the storm and strong wind.

Law enforcers are investigating the reasons for the incident.
