The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, had a telephone conversation with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. According to the press release of the President's office, during the conversation, the parties discussed the latest developments in Syria, AA reports.
President Erdogan stated that Turkey will continue to provide strong support to the Syrian people in the upcoming process to rid Syria of terrorist elements, ensure its unity, protect its territorial integrity and ensure that all Syrians with all their ethnic and religious elements live in peace.
Erdogan said that the issue of safe and voluntary return of Syrians is in the planning stage, efforts to restore Syria will speed up that process.
