The European Union will provide 160 million euros in aid to Syria by the end of the year, announced the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, after meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"The EU will fulfill its obligations to support Syria. This year, our aid to Syria will amount to 160 million euros," he said.
Von der Leyen also confirmed the restoration of diplomatic relations between Damascus and Brussels.
