Schools have reopened in Syria

Students in Syria have returned to classrooms after the country's new authorities ordered schools to reopen, reports Reuters.

On Sunday morning, students waited in the courtyard of Damascus Boys' High School and applauded as the school's secretary, Raed Nasser, hung the flag adopted by the new authorities.

"Everything is fine. We are fully equipped. We worked for two to three days to provide the necessary services to the school for the safe return of the students," Nasser said, according to Reuters, adding that the Jawdat al Hashemi school was not damaged.
